Community Celebration

  • Rockpointe Church | Bearspaw 255024 Lochend Road Calgary, AB, T4C 2H2 Canada (map)

Good evening, friends and special guests and thank you for coming to the 2026 Community Celebration concert!

We are so excited to be gathered here tonight to showcase some of Calgary’s most talented youth and young adult musicians. For over 100 years, the Calgary Stampede has brought the uniqueness of many different families, communities and cultures together through the core ideals of western heritage and values.

Tonight we are situated on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani, Kainai), Tsuut’ina, and Îyâxe Nakoda (Bearspaw, Chiniki, Goodstoney) First Nations. Calgary is also Métis Nation of Alberta Districts 5 and 6. These lands have always been a gathering place, and we are proud to continue that tradition.

By creating programs and places for youth to thrive, the Calgary Stampede Foundation creates motivated and engaged young Calgarians, empowered to do amazing things. It is with this theme in mind that the Calgary Stampede Showband, the Calgary Round-Up Band, the Stetson Showband, and the JazzYYC Youth Lab Band come together and combine efforts for a concert in celebration of the arts, and of the amazing communities to which we all belong.

With over 150 performers aged 16–21, the band is internationally recognized and performs nearly 200 times each year. The Showband is uniquely versatile, delivering everything from concerts and parades to field shows, special events, and their signature performances on the BMO Grand Staircase during the Calgary Stampede.

Most recently, the Showband was awarded the title of International Champions at the 2025 Drum Corps International Championships in Indianapolis, becoming the first International Class group in history to advance to Semi-Finals. Showband members and staff champion western heritage and values while pushing the boundaries of innovative performance art.
